Appropriation

Recently I’ve been thinking on this idea of appropriation.

To appropriate is to devote money or assets to a special purpose and the term is usually heard in relation to the appropriation of funds in business or government.

But there are many other things in which we can appropriate, or devote, in regard to enhancing our lives and to enriching the lives of others.

And the majority of the things that we can appropriate to create a positive, profound impact have not a thing to do with money.

Things such as:

-Supporting someone during a difficult time in their life

-Encouraging and empowering people

-Coaching or mentoring someone as they navigate through life

-Inspiring and helping others to see their greatness and reach their full potential

-Loving unconditionally or

-Just being there for someone

None of the aforementioned cost a penny to implement but when you appropriate them you’ll feel like the richest person alive.
